Does anyone know if the 3/8 internal square plug on bottom of gearbox is just a drain bung ???? Manual box.

Thanks

pretty sure its a 30something mm bolt for the gearbox, the transfer box possibly has a 3/8'' drive drain plug though. cant remember, mine hasnt had a gear oil change in a while, she is due one!

For the record, my 54 plate landmark has 32mm A/F gearbox drain that needs a bloody big hammer and chisel to slacken and a quite large torx filler plug.

Transfer box has a 1/2" square filler plug behind the handbrake cable and a 3/8" square drain.

Why they couldn't use one fixing for all I have no idea.

It's directly under the bottom of the bell housing next to the edge of the sump, I know where the oil drain/filler plugs are but unsure of this one ?

Thanks

I would take that out unless you are doing alot of wading, as my mate found out, silt and crap can build up and damage your clutch plate!

Good idea, don't know when or how long it been in as the previous owner wouldn't of gone wading so been in for years.
