My front Diff is wining and I think it needs replacing or the bearings doing.

UJ's have been replace so it's not that.

However I noticed the car will drive with the front drive shaft off and in diff lock.

I'm short of money and time at the mo so can I run the car like this for a few weeks or will it damage something in the transfer box?

Will be fine mechanically - may just alter handling a little, so take it easy (not that you have much choice in a Landy)

I've done it in an emergency (front CVJ went), but I wouldn't want to for any prolonged period.

I'm only driving 6 miles to work and back so this should be ok?

Yep

If you search the foum you'll see this has been covered a few times - I've never seen a 'no you can't' answer

I'll run it in 2wd for a while.

I did try and search but looks like I'm not too good at it.:confused2:
