why is it that when it snows people seem to complain about the lack of grit on the roads why dont they prepare their own cars with winter tyres and not expect others to risk their own lifes just so they can meander at 10mph on straight traffic free roads.
It gets worse as for some reason whilst they do this they have the mobile phone glued to their ears probably giving a blow by blow account of the weather instead of trying to drive wake up you muppets and dont shake your heads when someone who has prepared for winter overtakes you in a superior vehicle (landrover) rant over

Because people are idiots. My mum has a Range Rover then asked me yesterday why she couldnt go 30 down the road, it was in snow mode....

I clearly explained that its a driving aid and you need to drive much slower!

Where as my girlfriend in her Hyundai I20 managed to get down the road much better (after listening to me) than my mum in snow mode..

Gotta say though, that snow mode is awesome, have it on the D3 - it just slows everything down and tightens up the steering and makes you physically take it slower, I'm really impressed with it. (I don't try and drive "normally" though, take it very slowly and easy)

The ABS side of things was amazing too, the one roundabout I had the back end try and kick out slightly the Disco corrected it all instantly

I wouldn't say my land rover is a "superior vehicle" ive had better. and I'm not sure if owning one would mean I'm prepared for winter
I find putting my hat and gloves on to walk the dog makes me feel I'm prepared for winter
I agree about the amount of muppets on the road but not all drive 2wd vehicles
And I to cant under stand why some people drive so slow when you can see the road is fine and has been for the last day or so
But despite the fact I own a nice discovery 2 with all its driver ads and a very good heater
I'm still using my Vw golf every day and my wife is still using her bmw
And how's this for living on the edge I don't have winter tyres!!!!!!!
Maybe I should start a poll on this
Am I a rebel
Am I a muppet for driving a 2wd car
Or am I just a ####

would say its a personal choice of yours to drive your golf i have a 2wd honda but choose to go by landrover so your not a rebel maybe a little twisted lol

Ha ha, like this one that I got stuck behind on the way to sorting the horse out this morning. 10 - 15 mph  but I resisted the temptation to overtake because I only had half a mile to go.

When the snow really hit on Friday, i was out in the RR and followed some prick down the road who was riding a moped at about 8 mph.

I daren't overtake him in case I flattened him.

My mum was out today with my sisters kids in the back of her Rav4 and some muppet coming the opposite way on a straight bit of road was going too fast and lost it, snaked down the road and took out the 2 cars behind her. Two cars on their roof in a ditch and the other in a field. He was in a saloon car. I would prefer people drive slow, no matter what vehicle they are in, in these conditions.

+1

Cautious people staying within their limitations don't bother me, some people are just trying to get to work or get on with what they need to do and aren't skilled road warriors. The knobs are the tailgaters.
