just shows what can happen when the technically uneducated read the gibberish produced by journalists.
just to clarify for you , crumple zones are parts of the bodywork designed to collapse in a semi controlled manner so the energy of an impact is dissipated by the engine bay and boot areas leaving the passenger cabin hopefully undamaged. traditional landrovers have a chassis and hence dont crumple.... hence the expert journalist thinks youre safer in a corsa that will crumple in a minor bump ..
I drove a few of these when they were new and according to Land Rover the 0 to 60 time is quicker than a TDI and I think if you rev them hard they might be but they just feel gutless. A mate put one in a lightweight that was OK though.
He should remove the 2 litre and replace it with the more powerful 23 liter V12 Maybach HL230. If it's good enough for a tank, it's good enough for a Disco.
I think the idea of the Mpi, was to have some thing in the <2ltr company car tax bracket.
You'd still look semi-important arriving to work in a brand new disco, all be it with half an engine. Thank Christ they didn't put it in the Range-Rover. Imagine the shame of driving a 4cyl petrol Rangie?
well he has finally admitted its under powered.trying to pull off on a hill like a judering church hil dog with noding head.200 tdi in their be a better option.
