does anybody know how re-tim a 200tdi fuel pump with the timing gear missing.gear has been removed from pump.

Never heard or seen anything about overhauling a injection pump anywhere, so re-fitting the gear will be a problem.
Best bet is take it somewhere that overhauls them.

You need to follow the Fuel Injection Pump section of this manual, Defender-200TDi-Engine_Overhaul_Manual[1].pdf.
PM me and I'll email it to you direct. It's 4MB in size mind. Or you can follow the same instructions of the Haynes book of lies.
