I’m going to be starting the restoration & conversion to a v8 of my 90 soon.
The 200tdi i currently have under the bonnet has a 13L number??? I know that a 90 should have 11L and disco 12L what did mine come out of?

Looks like i have a mish-mash of running gear! Auto disco 200tdi , lt77 gearbox out of god knows what and a 1.222 lt230 out of a disco i think? What would the engine be worth?

£2-300 at a guess but if it can be seen running and includes all ancillaries then could be as much as 8. Not many people are converting to 200tdi anymore because there's not many 12/19j left to convert.

The engine is still in the 90 at the moment. I think i’ll leave it in until it sells then. Thanks for the replies

finally got under the 90 today to have a look at the gearbox and transferbox numbers. gearbox is a 50A******G and transfer box is a 28D which I already knew was a 1.222.
what's my gearbox come out of?
does the last letter on the gearbox specify the suffix?

I would keep the 200 in the shed for a year or two as mate did the tdi to v8 thing and I told him he would regret it, after many many issues, a good few of them his fault as he was young and always in a rush he sold it and confessed to me he wished he lad left the 200 fitted.
Every v8 land rover I have ever been in I have been underwhelmed, great noise but not a lot of go unless the revs piled on and of course you then get to join the 55mph bridege trying to get max mpg which will always be half what the tdi can do

Also tdi going to be worth more than 2/300 quid I would say 4/500

Well i’m not that bothered about how quick it will go to be honest (its a land rover afterall) as for mpg i will be looking to run it in lpg but it will be a weekend toy when done.

Me too my 101 when up and running will be GPL here in Portugal and an occasional fun drive\overland trip vehicle...
