I'm just in the final throws of getting my 110 finished but have just had a wee hitch. I'm following the Glencoyne how to so am reusing my 2.5 petrol engine mounts and new oem rubbers. I've refitted the LHS engine mount and went to refit the right side but it catches on a wee blanking flange under the injection pump.

Will it be okay to cut a hole in the mount so it clears the flange? I'd probably weld plates on the sides to strengthen it up too just to be extra safe.

I would say so, you wouldn't want anything from the chassis apart from the mounts touching the engine.

And yeah put a couple of plates on to be safe.

It would appear after seeing a different pic of a 200Tdi conversion on here I've been a total tool!!!!! The engine mount would fit far better if I tried to fit it on the correct way and not upside down DOH!!!! Silly twunt! Lol

Follow the Glencoyne guide and it'll be a piece of **** (engine mount debarkels not included). I've been reading on and off for a year now and now I'm doing it it's all slotting into place (even bits that made no sense just reading about it). All prep works done now, loom sorted, turbo "clocked", new down pipe fitted, cam belt done, flywheel housing modified, new clutch and crank seals front and back, new oil and fuel filter and most importantly engine mounts fitted the correct way lol.

Just a couple of bits to do in the engine bay then I'm ready to fit it.....I'm cheating slightly though. I'm off to Egypt for a fortnight on Wednesday so I'm getting the local garage to fit the engine for £100. This way it saves me a days worth of crap and buggering around so I can come home from holidays and then plumb in all the bits and get it running (I hope!!)

It'll run, not difficult to wire up either, I did one several years ago.

Mine is having gearboxes as well so even easier and cheaper:)
 
Just wondering what the noise levels are with 200tdi as opposed to 2.5n/a?

Any one know? will I have to sound proof floors, tunnel and under bonnet or is it quiet:)
