My turbo is a little worn on my 200tdi (defender engine), it is OK at the moment so no rush but was wondering if there are any other turbos that will bolt on? Maybe with a bit more oomph to it?

Im happy to do a bit of exhaust fabricating to get it going the right way, a few silicone hoses will help if the compressor is pointing a bit the wrong way as well.

Has anyone done or known of this being done? Have searched and all I can find is how to convert the disco turbo to a defender one

300tdi turbo and manifold fit the 200

pointless fitting a 300 turbo tho not much difference surley.

Search VNT and you will find a very nice piece of kit but its not cheap

300 turbo is more enough the same isn't it? I think it might give slightly more boost than 200 as standard

yup it runs slightly more boost to make up for the 300's smaller inlet valves over the 200.

Not enough benefits to a 300 turbo, I can up my boost slightly if needed, I want something a bit quicker spooling

Dont want to go the VNT route really, was thinking something along the lines of a Garrett T28 type unit, something that spools quick, 360 degree bearings to help a quick spool e.t.c.

I have been looking into this for my 300tdi but didn't find much really. Had a look around the local scrappy and there was nothing that didn't need a lot of fabrication
