Some time ago i bought an engine off our very own Mr. James Martin - great 200di lump - which still has the turbo on, just with no bearings, etc. in it.

Anyway, I plumbed up the air to still pass through the turbo before going into the engine... but, need to re-plumb it all for the new snorkel.

Do i need to bother going through the turbo as it's not actually doing anything? Or can the snorkel go straight to the inlet manifold (through filter of course)
If i can go straight to the inlet manifold, do i need to protect the turbo inlet / outlet at all?

Y'all don't need to go through that there turbo. It is just a restriction and with no guts it isn't doin a dern thing.

I figure with all the slang thrown around in here i am not familliar with a little southern yank couldn't hurt :p

you probably do want to get a new exhaust manifold and just get the whole turbo outta there.

Cheers. i don't mind the turbo sitting there... it keeps the feng shui of the engine bay right ;)
Just long as i know i can ignore it with my plumbing :D

all you need is one o' them turbo sound makers the kids put on their hondas and you're set!

Actually... any exhaust would do... mines kinda lacking one at present... it's somewhere on the M1.
