Yup, all same length, the overtightend scenario seems more likely, pretty sure they got a brass insert tho ?

just went and checked mine. no bolt hole!- there is a stud where you have the bolt hole. mine is a 2001

do you have the other 2x M8 bolts holding the top cover on tho ? ( pretty sure they was M8 anwyays

they are all studs, into brass inserts

What like poppers ? Not M8 bolts which you bolt into the brass inserts ? Notice your in OZ and wonder if this is simply a word association mix up ?
