had the battery disconnected for about 2 weeks on my 2004 4.4 as i wasnt needing to use it , as we all know the battery would only go flat after a while
anyway on reconnection i found that tickover was erratic and sometimes the engine would cut out ,after a while it seemed to have righted itself
anyone think this is normal it didnt do this before the battery was disconnected , i can only guess it is resetting its adaptive values as these may be wiped on battery disconnection

update

problem seems to go when the engine gets warm but on startup revs up and down ,stops etc anyway while all this was happening i had the rear light clusters removed as i was removeing the light guards ,plug the light clusters back in and all problems are gone runs as sweet as a nut - unplug the problem comes back . now who would expect the light clusters to affect engine tickover
