My 2001 V8 Disco has been idling roughly for a few weeks now and started to stagger when under load...New plugs were put in and ran better for a week or so, took it to a Land Rover mechanic and they replaced the leads...and is still doing it..I'm not sure what controls the amount of fuel or spark to one side of the engine only, as the passenger side plugs are fine. The drivers side plugs are carbon black after a couple of days driving.

Land Rover testing reports nothing unusual??

Can anyone help please?

It could be as simple as a failed oxygen sensor in the rh downpipe, this should show up on Testbook as a fault code or as bad live data readings - but only if the tech knows what to look for.
Are you happy that they know what they are doing?

check for air leak on the inlet or even the exhaust manifold area of that bank - if the lambda ( O2 sensor) picks up too much oxygen it will think that its too weak and jack up the fuel on that side- therefore making it too rich ??

It turned out to be an O2 sensor... and a crappy set of leads didn't help the situation..the original tech wasn't very experienced in reading the data

thanks again
