Hello.
I get a clunking sound when I go from engine brake to throttle. Seems to come from one of the propshafts, transfercase or forward differential.

I can't find any obvious fault with any components.

Anyone know what could be wrong?

Could be a UJ, you need to unload the drive line by getting a wheel off the ground to check for play.

I've had it up in the air and checket the UJ for play, but I can't find any specific defects.

I know that the play can be very small but is easily noticed when driving. so i really wonder if there is anyone who has changed diffrential or transfercase because of play and clunk sounds.

Have you checked the crankshaft.they are known to snap.if it's cracked across a web you wil get a clatter when changing from under load to unloaded.If you can get a socket on the crank pully nut see if there is any movement that shouldn't be there.you may even replicate the noise. Fingers crossed its not snapped.
