1999 2.5td with 185,000 miles on the clock, would it be wise to flush with known product before the a good oil and filter change?
pro's and cons please.o_O

As long as you have had regular oil changes just change the oil and filter and dont waste your money on any other product.I personally use a fully synthetic oil and change every 10000 miles but i do high mileages and not much town work.

i do change it's oil and filter regularly with the shell helix 7 10w40. Was just thinking about ticking cam followers on start up in the morning (only briefly) and tiny oil ways in the cam chain adjusters for example..I'd be mortified I killed the old girl

WIth higher mileage like that, thought always does move to ends and mains when doing a flush. I would try and avoid if you can. See attached the service sheet for old girl. I'd just stick to that.

Last time I used engine flush ok on a transit but ended up with having to change some oil seals as they started to leak after flush , it clear all the junkthat was stopping it leak.

that's the fear. More crap in places crap doesn't belong. All considered, no flush! Just golden juice and clean paper filters here sir! thanks peeps;)
