thinking of swapping our td4 freelander for a rangerover p38, what should we look out for?

Electrics, just check the air con and displays work ok. Check the cruise works. and of course windows seats etc. Air Suspention. Check it lowers and rises ok. The air springs should not be too badly cracked/perrished. The rest of the checks are the usual for any car (but i'm sure others can think of more). These cars are great in my opinion and get loads of flack about reliability, economy. But I just think they are the best, proper on/off road vehicle you can get for the money. I too used to have a Freelander, and to be fair it wasn't bad. There are quite a few good p38's about so you should be in luck.

My missus thought the P38 was too big til she rode in it and then she shut up.
Got to be a female fear of size or summat.
There really is something about owning/driving a Range Rover, even though mine is a tarted up base model which I like cos there is less to go wrong on it.
(No climate control means a bit better fuel economy).
Go for it, if you find a good one like I did you wont regret it one bit.

Sounds like a good un!.........just be sure you want the diesel, i think Boomer will agree that the diesels are lumbering beasts. I think you can get em chipped so they can do 50 odd MPH........eherm downhill.ta mate,

Totally agree, take the mpg hit and go for a petrol. That V8 grumble gets addictive, might explain why I'm stupid and have two!! Better still, try and see if you can find one with sequential LPG system fitted, cheaper to run with still loads more grunt than a diesel.
