What oil is best to put into my 2.5 petrol engine? And why is there no obvious filler cap like there was in my series 3 ? Help!
I admit it takes balls to ask such a ridiculous question on here, but low on oil and need to take go out tomorrow - thanks

Think I put 10w40 semi in mine. The filler cap is on top of the rocker cover (these crazy British designers), think it doubles up as a breather if I remeber rightly, just pull it off and top the oil up

My series 3 (2 1/4 petrol) has three places where you can put the oil in!* Breather and a filler in the rocker cover, plus the pipe that goes straight to the sump. If you're taking the breather off, check whether there's a little screw in the side holding it in. I had a bad half hour trying to get mine off before I finally realised why it wouldn't move. *(Of course there are a lot more than 3 places where the oil comes out!)
