Anybody had success removing the locating pins from the head for the hot plugs? The ones I'm dealing with are damaged and seized solid.
are your hotspots already out as small mole grips should do it then, they dont hold the hotspot in they locate themI am aware of this however its not the removal of hot plugs thats the issue its removal of the split pins that keeps the plugs in place.
Ah i see no luck for meMy thinking was if you knock the plugs out the pins will come out also.
My hotspots are out tried everything couldn't remove any of them they were seized solid. I even thought about fitting the hot spots back in and trying to catch the edge of the pin and fusing it to the hotspot with the tig welder then knocking them through. For such a small pin they are really stuck. I have read other people failing to remove them and just re fitting the hotplugs. I am aware they are just there to locate the plugs but mine are knackered.are your hotspots already out as small mole grips should do it then, they dont hold the hotspot in they locate them
