Hi all - my discos been stood off road for approx 3 months.
Its a 2.5 P reg tdi.

I've just come to start it ready to get it back on the road and am having trouble.

The engines turning fine just not firing.
So far i've changed the glow plugs, new diesel filter, battery ok, but it just will not fire.
I know fuel is getting through, as ive primed it and also undone the main feed to the injector pump so its getting through.

Also wipers are now on permanent and the headlights not turning on - also glow plug light on dash is not going out and the temp guage is permanently fully over to the red.

So chaps - any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Neil

Its fooked... :D

If there is fuel to the injectors and it is turning over strongly.. it should start! Whats the compression like?
Could check that the glow plugs are getting hot but tdi tends to start with none anyway. Is the air filter free of guff?

Hi matey - not thought of checkin the air filter - put new plugs in today - im tryin to start it off my mondeo battery - do you think i need a stronger one - it usually starts fine cause it's parked up for long periods and i've never had a prob before with it.

thanks for ya help

Odd one, as above tdis will fire up without the electrics working.

Dash issues to me are a sign of low voltage, try get it jumped off a couple of running cars.

Basically it should run!!

You've got fuel to the injector pump but what about the injectors? try cracking the unions on the injectors and bleeding the fuel through there.
