hi
does any one know how to time a 2.25 diesel by the fly wheel because the markings are 14 and 13 degrees instead of 15 and 16 degrees like all.

hope you can help

do it to the 13 degrees past TDC

think the 16 degrees past was only on early petrol engines

The 16 degree mark was for the very early pumps with the little window in the side. some 3 bearing jobs on 14 degrees but all seem best at 13 degrees. Make sure your timing chain is good and EP mark correct with a dial gauge on number 1 exhaust fully open.
