Hi, my name is Martine and I am about to purchase my first Landrover after years of lusting after them. The problem is I have a choice of 2 and not really sure which one to go for.
2.0 TD4 Adventurer hard top 3 door 2006 219000 on the clock £3495 8 months MOT
2.2 TD4 HSE Freelander 5 door 2010 229000 on the clock £3995 will have 12 months MOT

I am going round in circles and my husband keeps saying its up to me!!
HELP

It really depends what you want, but I think they sound a little expensive... maybe not if they are forecourt sales though, rather than private. Of course, it depends on the quality of them.

Generally, the F1 is older but easier to work on. Check to see if it still has a prop fitted if you want 4 wheel drive.
The F2 is much more modern when compared to the 1, but is ‘harder’ to work on yourself (more electrics etc.) That said, basic servicing and repairs are possible on both with a few tools.

All things being equal, the F2 will obviously outlast the F1.

At those miles, you want to look for a lot of history / paperwork if possible. They are fine if they have been well looked after over the years.

My choice would be the 2 😉

… and welcome to the forum!

They are both similar mileage and ages. If you put the registration into the gov website you can look up previous MOTS. Perhaps one has been better looked after than other. Recurring issues year on year with basics like tyres or brakes is usually a sign of neglect.
