If Gearbox is empty to the dip stick. How much oil do you guys put in. Tested the car in Neutral while idling, dipstick empty????

Get 5litres for starters. Run the gearchange lever through all the gears, check in neutral, engine idling WHEN COLD
Fill it in small amounts, half pint or so until it registers on stick, then top up to correct level. Difference between high and low on stick is less than a pint. Only check it with oil cold.

Yes...the dipstick does not reach into the sump, it sits inside the tube so the difference between high and low is, as Wammers said, slight. Give the oil time to drain from the inside of the tube before dipping.

Thanks all.
Yes car was cold, drove it around the block, put it in Neutral, Took out the dipstick and it was clean, no oil on dipstick.
Will do the procedure when oil arrives.
