Hi,
I'm going to an auction tomorrow looking at a couple of 1996 defenders to hopefully replace my stolen 90 - All the catalogue says is tdi and despite numerous searches, I'm struggling to be able to tell if they are 200's or 300's - especially in an auction environment.
Did the 200 finish production in a particular year, so that I would know that any models after that year are 300's.

L redg and beore 200 M and after 300 ,the other way is axle ends 200 stick out alot further than 300,

dont really mean nuthin cos landys get retro fitted engines in them

my e reg td got changed to a 200tdi and then to a 300 tdi

why not just google 200tdi and 300 tdi and take a pic of each engine then you will know what you are lookin at

i had 300 tdi axles on my e reg td

is the only bit about landies you can never be sure whats fitted ,but also one of the best

At auction I thought you where able to have a look over the motors before they go through, as said above google the two types and then ya will know what ya looking at , front of engine is very different on 200 and 300 so easy to tell difference good luck.
