Hi all have finally got a 90 and been busy changing all fluids.
When changeing the engine oil i drained it and removed filter then re-filled with 6 ltrs and intending to top up .
when i checked after running and letting it settle it was overthe highmark .
Have drained a little out and know back to normal level.
Do these engines vary in the amount of oil they need .
As have read that if over filled it can cause damage

Thanks Ady

it would have to be a lot more than a litre overfilled to cause damage ,they should all hold very similar but dip sticks may vary ,6 litres would be a little to less imo did you fully drain engine

Hi yes left it draing for at least an hour, think its got around 5ltrs in so will add some, also what would the oil pressure normally be mines around 60 .
sorry for all the questions buy just want to be sure

next time you could fill it with exact amount fit a new filter ,run it a few mins then check stick and mark if required to exact point

there are also 2 different length dipsticks. Make sure you have the correct one My TD had the wrong one fitted when I bought it.
