Hi all,
Just in the process of finishing a 200tdi conversion in my 1989 110 CSW.
I have just come to reconnect the wiring on the starter motor, and have found that in that area, I have a number of wires.
I have one thick red wire (direct from the battery) which connects to the top stud on the starter solenoid. I have one small white/red wire with a spade terminal which is the ignition controlled 12v power supply to the solenoid.
As well as these, I have 2 pairs of brown wires. Each wire in the pair is connected together on a ring terminal, which gives me 2 ring terminals, with 4 brown wires. These terminate in the area of the starter motor, but Im not sure where they go?
Unfortunately, I tried to put the two ring terminals and the battery cable on the top stud, and when I tried to start the engine, there was a lot of smoke.
Im not quite sure what to do now?
Any suggestions?
Many thanks
Tom
