Further to my previous post, I have decided to fit auxiliary 12s electrics rather than 13 pin.
I have found two part numbers, STC50459 and STC50460 but the seller can't tell me the difference between them.
Can anyone tell me which part I need? The car is a 2004 TD4 and the caravan is 1996. Cheers.

I think I have found the answer. 50459 is for caravans up to 1999 and 50460 is for caravans after that.
Can anyone tell me if I'm correct?

Are you sure it’s not dependant on freelander year?
I don’t think it makes a difference for caravan year, the 12s socket supplies the same for any year it’s standard what the pins supply.

It is more likely the change of year for the car.
I E different plugs for the harness.

No the charging on the caravan changed in 1999 from memory so you’ll need the earlier part number

I'm getting conflicting information. One supplier says he doesn't know what the difference is, one says the difference is the age of the Freelander and two suppliers say the difference is based on the age of the caravan. I'm now very confused!!

Thanks td4van. I was busy typing my reply and didn't see your response. I'll order the part for the earlier caravan.

I would ask the supplier for a pic of the connectors on both if poss.
Or at least the 1 you intend to order.

I have a useless 13 pin socket + harness for an L322 cos they changed the harness.
As far as I am aware the wiring of the socket has never changed. I can put any year of trailer/caravan on my car and it will all work as long as it has been wired as per standard plug.
