any advice as to why my passenger side window wiper is over stroking and hitting the gutter with a thump then under stroking without clearing the window?
i have changed the wiper arms and grommet thingy, but no fix there.
i guess it a worn mechinism but not got a clue how to get in and check

ive had the thing off and on loads of times, dont matter where they go on still under strokes especially when on intermitant, then does what it likes when switched on proper both under and over stroking it wrecks the rubber and the paint on rail under window is chipping off( not that you would notice)

sounds like the wiper wheel boxes are worn. Remove the wiper arms, take out the wiper motor and drive cable/spring. Now rotate the wiper wheel box. You can do it by 120 degs if they aren't too badly worn or 180 degs if they is goosed. Re-fit the motor and then the wiper arms and see if that has cured it.

Look at busterbus's guide to wiper motor renewel and all should become clear. If you're still struggling after that re-post here and I'll talk you through it. If you can operate a spanner or screwdriver you can do the job yourself.
