As the title I am looking to buy one to turn into a weekend camper.
I have seen some ''utility'' ones for sale quiet new, and with quiet low mileage, but some are saying they need a type 7 MOT, I get the idea, that they are heavier, and have uprated suspension.
I don't know if this type 7 MOT is able to do at a normal MOT station OR is it like plating, and you have to go to a special station,is it harder to pass, should I leave these ones alone, how can you tell which has to have the type 7 MOT
Also are they mainly the same vehicle, i.e utility and van/hi top, have they got the same gearbox, engine etc.
The only difference I can see is the utilities have lockers and side doors
Anyone can shed some light I would be grateful, thanks...

according to my mot mate ,since classed as dual purpose vehicle still class 4 mot, says any proposed changes havent materialised,he does all my customers mots,as class 4 on these vehicles, though have seen on here some having difficulty, the 130s etc use same engine ,gearbox axles etc ,but have h/d clutch and rear suspension and are just 110s with bit welded in chassis and body work is easily unbolted and changed

Both my previous 110 and my current one have been ex-utilities. My last one had the HD chassis and was just a normal MOT. My current one has a normal chassis and is again a normal MOT.
