I was driving along today and went to turn a corner and the steering locked. Managed to get off the road, but can only turn the steering wheel half a turn to left and right. Any ideas as to what is wrong? Please.

have you checked all your steering ball joints and the drop arm ball joint? Has the steering gone heavy? Check the steering damper hasn't seized too.

Are you sure the steering lock hasn't engaged.
