G'day G'day,
I have this strange follow me home headlight fault that is absolutely sh!tting me to tears!
I like the auto headlight function. I love it, its saves me a bloody job ;) BUT, when i get home and shut down the car only one (drivers side) headlight comes on.
So its not a big deal but i cant stand it not being right.
I will go as far as saying both left and right headlights work fine but occasionaly the left headlight wont come on with the auto function.
Has anybody had this or heard of this at all??

It's not one of these 'parking light' functions, so that when you park at night in an unlit road, you are compliant with the law ?

You're pushing your luck,as I haven't been fed yet.Let's not forget you are driving the original girl's RR :)

Now we have that sorted. How do you resolve the fault when the passenger side light won't come on with Auto? It sounds like the answer/fault lies in the auto function, as you have two faults showing for same headlight, when using auto.

Oh Bugger, this whole blokes and sheilas thing is starting to sound like a horrible weekend in Thailand
Well whe i took it in for a splash n dash the servicemen said they re calibrated the headlights and that now it works. Since then the left headlight has failed only once but to get it to work i have to shut down the car and restart out of Auto and then flick it accross!
 
it has to be the processor that determines the outside light density which is not powering both lights? Or a glitch between it and the becm? o_O
 
aha! Ok, your becm is a computer that all the other computers on your bus all talk to and talk through it to each other, practically every command made on the car passes through becm... Over complicated I feel, but that's the way the bus rolls! Hence the reason why they can calibrate the headlights!! I take it there are no other faults in other areas?

BUS as in CANBUS?
I have various electrical issues.
Mode button on steering wheel doesnt scroll through stereo modes
Cruise control was intermittent (c/o the harness behind air bag) hasnt faulted again yet
Cd player is cactuss
Removed the plug n play chip yesty now fuel xonsumption is calculated to over 23ltr per 100km!
 
sorry, bus as in your car, size of a mini bus! A failing car battery can cause all kinds of system glitches.. These things are really sensitive to voltage changes due to battery and alternators ageing..

It all keeps coming back to the battery! I checked battery voltage yesty and charge rate and both were ok but i couldnt check amps. Charge eate was 14.7 and battery voltage was 13.6. This was after a punishing drive to the garage. So not a cold check
