Hi guys, got a few things on my p38 which i was hoping for sone advice, looked in other posts but cant seem to find much.

1. Key fobs. Remote central locking wont work, but lights flash on both fobs. But central locking in the door works fine. So im guessing its something in the car that needs changing, any advice?

2. EAS. Every now and again if i hit a pot hole or a drain, the whole car shudders for about 5 seconds. But works fine most of the time, for now.. Any ideas?

3. Fuse 6 keeps blowing, its the sunvisor light and rear view mirror auto dip. Had a look but cant see much. Anybody had this happen?

The shuddering is more often associated with coil-spring vehicles, but it is usually due to a combination of factors including bad bushes or ball joints, bad wheel bearings, funky dampers, and improper swivel pin bearing pre-load. Sometimes it can be due to a bad steering box. You're going to have to start looking through it.

Its hard to explain how it felt, but it felt more say automated than it being a worn out part. I had top and bottom ball joints replaced just before this happened, could that have anything to do with it?

Did it happen before replacement?

No it didnt, but ive driven it more today than i have since i had it back from the garage and it didnt do it once.

I'd take a look at your panhard bushes. They are often the culprit. Also check for play in your bearings and swivel pin tension. With a wheel off the ground grab it at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock and rock your hands back and forth. Then do it with your hands at 12 and 6. If you feel play in both positions, it's most likely a bad bearing. If you feel play at 12 and 6 only, it's the swivel bearing.

1. does it central lock with the key ?

2. as above, also have a look at the steering damper

3. does the rear view mirror have a 'tide mark' or a stain in it? Also check the fuse box for any signs of lotage burns the fuse boxes do tend to throw upa gremlin.

Yes it does central lock with both keys.
