2004 vouge. Hi , had air suspension light on for a while , got it fixed (£640), towed my caravan 60 miles same problem back with additional auto level message, car stuck at max height with max 35 miles per hour displayed.. Any help much appreciated before i have to go back to garage..

dont mess about,just take it back to garage,you paid enough as it was.
 
I think you deserve a better expanation of what they did,you really ought to go back and give them a chance to either explain in more detail where the broken wire was etc,OR have it back and fix it properly.
£640 is a large sum for a days diagnostic work,its not an easy game - I spend many frustrating hours that I cant charge for - some places seem to have much more "neck" in handing out large invoices.
 
Tiz a difficult one, this - finding a broken wire can be a nightmare and very time consuming. If you run a business, you want to be paid for your efforts. But £640 is a hell of a lot of money.
 
Go back, the work should be warrentied, if they won't sort it, take trading standards with you the next time! I'm assuming you meant fitted a replacement sensor, not a faulty one! If they fitted a new sensor, did they recalibrate the system?
 
Take it back, they charged you for not fixing it. Either they should fix it F.O.C. or give you a refund for at least the labour part of the invoice.

Madness to charge like that! Take it back and demand a full explanation of what was done?

ps when towing (explained in your hand book) you should start off in standard height with the inhibit switch pressed to stop the car lowering, when you get up to speed for long enough, to motorway level. I have had to reset a few cars because this was not done and the car didn't like lowering itself whist pulling something very heavy, horseboxes normally. When towing and the suspension does lower it can upset whatever you are towing. Very interesting article a while ago when someone lent a trailer (something he normally doesn't do) to a chap whose car lowered with a heavy load the trailer took over and both car and trailer were a write off. He definately does not lend his trailer to anyone now!

Even makes my £350 classic bill seem cheap, take it back say "you didnt fix it" give them the keys and leave.Then when you come to pick it up act like your not expecting to pay and then dont pay , you have paid enough! This is what I did/must do tomorrow when I pick mine up.

You may want to note his car is an 04 - therefore an L322.
