What you are actually saying here is that after 25 years the body fell off and you had plenty room, coz it was just an engine and chassis, no thinking about it just an engine.

not quite just lock the pully , thats the key, once the spanners on square , no need fer a cranky ****y thing fer a tenner :doh: just **** it, nice sharp strike does the job, yer apply way more pressure thru shock, like undoing a nut with a chisle on the corner, its prob over a tonne of pressure on one point !

I'm looking at leccy ones at the moment, would you recommend a single large one or smaller twins?

Just fit a thermostat and use the existing electric fans, they are almost never used for the aircon so are sat there doing sweet FA. they are certainly powerful enough for the diesel and probably OK for the petrol. Stat goes across the switch on the aircon dryer, I can sort out the switch number if you are interested
If you buy fans, always go for a twin set up, electric fans do fail and with one big one you are in the sh*t if it gives up.

If it starts to overheat coz a fans died go for the plan B and stick on yur heaters at full blast. With the windows open its still uncomfortable but it works for the short time it takes to pull the temp back down.

Dont think I would nick the air con fans tho, there is a fair bit of temp there, and you will probably kill it.
