Hi all !
Fed up with the snow yet?
Iv been playing in it that much (being a bit of a pratt really  ) i seem to have rolloxed my clutch, or have i ???

Problem i had today was after driving for 10 minuets on a straight road at approx 50mph no stops ( no using of clutch ) the clutch peddle went flat to the floor and TOTALLY nothing was there ended up jaming it out of 5th when i came to set of traffic lights, then sat at the side with hazards on and getting the finger from a lil t*at in super fast saxo with cardboard trims!
After i then pushed the peddle to the floor again and again then noticed something was beginning to come back so i carried on pumping and "HEY PRESTO" ! I HAD A CLUTCH,
but...every since that when i go out in the car the longer i leave it without pressing the clutch the less there is on the clutch unless i pump it 10-15 times.
I had this problem in my 90 300tdi but it wouldnt recover after pumping clutch , i took the slave cylender off dismantled it and replaced it with a rubber seal from screw fix, re-bled it and no problem since:)
Any ideas anyone ??

Also!... i have read a thread about someone trying to arrange a RR meet anybody up for that or know of any going off ?

Thanks Jack
:D

Does sound like air in system, could try new slave cylinder first or seal kit in it, if that doesnt cure it its master cylinder, had the same thing with both my classics.

Old hydraulic flid will cause those symptoms, at least it did on my MR2. Flushed it through with clean fluid and then bled it and it now works fine.

If you did not lose any fluid in this episode it would suggest the mastercylinder is at fault and not the slave, faulty slave would give fluid loss. A bit of crap floating around in master could snag fluid NRV and cause this problem. Try bleeding system with new fluid to flush it out.

no there is no fluid loss what so ever and since that day it has stopped doing it

Thanks for replys

Hydraulic fluid is hygroscopic (absorbs water). could be yours has a lot of water in it that froze. I would still flush the system and put new fluid in:D
