i intend to strip it and see about replacint the motor with a decent one, one of the people we deal with at work strips and re-builds starters and alternators i am gonna ask them to have a look at it

I picked up a Champion C9500TDsi at Newark this year for about half what it was worth. Nowhere near as expensive as a Warn, and mines been dunked in ponds, crashed into trees and after the basterds stole it last weekend, crashed into a wall! Still works fine.

Tis mighty strong, pulling skip wagons out of fields when they're sunk up to their axles and many other things. But I'd heard bad things about them before I bought it.

PS: Just remembered, first time it got dunked in a pond, I'd put no sealant on it, but was more worried about getting my landy out, it even worked underwater without the sealant. But I guess that was just lucky, don't try that at home.

yup tirfor's are good but take a little effort to use, leccy winches arnt worth the metal there made from imho but hydraulic is the principle has been around for centuries, and lets face it the argument that if your engine fails you cant winch has never been won,if you dont look after the most impotant part of your landy you shouldnt be offroad in the first place:D

these seem pretty reasonable for all there stuff and no i havent used or work for them just thought you might be interested in a cheaper hydraulic one to the milmarker i have
