I dont think it really matters what you start with. depends what you find 1st I suppose. There are more hard tops about than canvas or Hi-Caps, but you will only need basics to get what you want.

A rear tailgate, full canvas hood and then the roll cage. Simples. It would be easier with a Hi-Cap so all you have to do is remove the truck cab. maybe tie in the roll cage design with supports for the canvas at the same time.

I've just finished restoring my DT400 and I'm looking for somthing to keep me occupied in the garage.
I want a 110 convertable!
My question is what would be the best variant to start with? a pick up or a hard top. (I only want 2 doors plus a rear half door).
I want to end up with a full canvas roof to the top of the windscreen, Then a full roll cage and bench seats down both sides.

There's a hell of a difference between restoring an odd looking motorbike and a Landy 110.
As for winter projects my mind wanders to being warm in front of a nice fire, a few glasses of a decent malt and going to bed with the wife.
But if you want to **** about with other stuff, I hope you enjoy.
