Ordered a new joint as the rollers have long since disappeared on part of it.
First I noticed that a circlip was missing on part of it and that it had splayed out.
I've cured the distortion with a press and fitted a new joint.
my question is normally the joints are aligned, but there are no arrows and it only fits smoothly on an offset-is this a deliberate angle correction or not?
thanks

Usually they are offset, see....

Thanks for your help, it must be angle correction, the prop has previous signs of abuse, hopefully i'll have the main crap jobs sorted for the weekend

Front shaft off set 30 deg cos front diff sits parralel with the ground

Why is it then when i had my front prop offset it vibrated like hell -- took it off and alinged the yokes together and she runs really smooth ....

.

the hooks should be parallel, but if there is offset then they may be at different angles- reason being angles must be matched as unlike a cv joint it can't compensate
