Just tried to unlock my P38 range rover and it wont. Changed the battery in the key fob, But made no difference.
I am suspicious the battery is flat as in has been stood for a week. Could this be the cause?

Have you tried using the key to open the lock, the drivers side should still open even if the battery is flat. This would allow you to get inside to release the bonnet.

Great! Unfortunatly the lock mechanism is also at fault. I did not find that out until today.
Had to call out the RAC.

if the battery is flat you can crawl underneath and put jump leads on the starter cables/connections, possy on starter and neg on body/engine/earth point and jump it from another car, this should allow you to put your eka code into the drivers door and then sync the key, the door lock mech bieng faulty presents a problem!!!

you can strip the door lock mech down and free it off and regrease it and put it back, you have nothing to loose if it doest repair then you can always get a new one!!
