I wanted to get rid of my power steering pump but noticed my alternators belt is atached to it and it does not run inline with my fan so I was wondering if anyone knew how to solve this problem

Why do you want to get rid of your power steering pump? Have you ever tried steering a disco with no power steering? its not easy

My Disco TDI 2.5 Diesel auto , has hard start, when i send in the servicemen say they dont see no problem, but i have replaced heater plugs, but the battery is gone in six months. what could be the problem. winter is approaching so i am in for big trouble!!

You can mount the alternator where the PAS pump is, but you will have to make up a couple of brakets and fit a couple of spacers to move the alternator forward in line with the water pump pulley.

It is usually done on a Series converstion because you have no need to PAS system.

I had a leaking steering box and when I ran out of PS fluid I was amazed at the effort it took to turn the steering - can't imagine how you could manage without power assistance .

Quite easy if you drain the fluid out
