Started last night.

Td4 manual 55 plate se.

seems to be when accelerating and comes on c. 2-2.5k revs when stationary.

Going for diagnostic tomorrow but any ideas?

No oomph when it's on but ok when it goes off.

Yes but only if the fault was made to occur during a road test, otherwise you would have to analyse stored data which could contain all kinds of odds and ends stored over time.

Had probs with a scenic before that never showed any readings on the dooda reader.(misfire that was ok after coils and plugs changed,then put to auction when it continued after a few weeks).

be intrigued, had this on my td4 auto for about 5 mins, wouldn't rev above 2.5k, and every time warning light came on. by the time I'd worked out what to do, it'd cleared and had never occurred again.

Nothing showing on diagnostics,new or stored.
No apparent splits in hoses.

Trying fuel cleaner in tank at the mo',but still light coming on and running in 'limp' mode mostly.

Fuel cleaner and new fuel filter didn't work.

Local stealership fully booked for a fortnight.

Now going 30 miles away to go on a landrover diagnostic machine,
I hate new engines

It was the pump at the rear.

Lot of them going wrong apparently.

Diagnosed as needing a fuel pump,back with me in a couple of days.

That's what I was going to tell you. Had the same about 5 years back (car was still under warranty), that engine light came up and very hard to start the car etc... in the end it died on me, believe it or not as I was on my way to have the car fixed, so they had to bring out the flatwagon to carry the Hippo in. After changing the fuel pump in the tank (they first tought I ran out of fuel and all the mecanics having a grin on their face when I arrived with the car on the flatwagon but the grin faded away when they saw my tank was all full) everything worked out fine but they advised me to avoid to run the tank empty till the warning light comes on but to fill it up when still 1/4 of fuel in it, which I try to do now. If the tank is still having enough fuel in it the downforce will allow that the frontpump alone will bring the fuel towards the engine, when the tank is almost empty that one small pump in the front not sturdy enough to do the job alone...
