In between the top fixing of inner and outer wings on a Disco - maybe other motors - is a black sticky tape which looks a bit like the old felt waterproof membrane used in building construction. I need to replace this on both wing tops - does anyone know wot this is - or where I can get it from?

Bin lookin' for some of that mesel' Daft and have bin told to try a plumbers merchants if that helps;)

find a double glazing manufacturing place, they use suitable stuff - also builders merchants keep bitumen impregnated DPC fabric that also does the same

It sounds like the stuff I've used for tanking cellars in the past. What width is it.

the stuff I used was called Bitumous impregnated barrier tape. Solaglas will sell you a roll of glazing tape which is an adhesive putty material that comes on a roll in various widths upto 40mm and from 2mm to 10mm thick

i reckon its about .75" (18mm) wide and about .125" (3-4mm) thick.

just measured it - 1" wide (25mm)

the glazing strip redhand mentioned is usually sticky on one side with a peel off paper backing, we use quite a lot of it at work but i'm not sure where we get it from. i'll have a look on monday and see if there's a spare bit if you like? my rangie just had 15mm fibre washers on each bolt between inner and outer wings
