Hi everyone does anyone no if their is an aftermarket td5 injector removal tool avalible or do i have to purchase straight from LR? I have searched the net and cannot find anything Dan

Why are you removing the injectors from a TD5?

They are very expensive and any replacement should be 'coded' to the ECU. This will require diagnostic tools.

There is no need for a special tool,a heel bar will do fine.As long as the EUI's go back in the same hole there is no need for recoding.I often find they've been recoded incorrectly - often makes no difference.

That's how I got mine out.
BUT ... (there's always a 'but' huh?) you do need to be careful and not use silly brute force. You can break things in there. Just take the softly softly line.

Make sure you plug up the spaces around the cam chain so you don't drop stuff in!

Read Rave carefully, and have a 10ml syringe with 10 inches of windscreen washer tube on the end. If you tell your local chemist you are an addict or junkie you qualify for free syringes. You are a LandRover junkie. You don't want the needles though - do you?

There is another special tool listed for these injectors - the tool to take the copper washers off their tips.

Heaven knows what that tool costs or whose idea it was.

Use a Stanley knife to prise the washer off.
It works beautifully if you take just a little care.

Work the washer off gently AFTER you have used the Stanley to scrape the black carbon off the sides of the tip.
