title says it all,
got me D shaped shackle but a wee bit wary that due to the thickness of the 'loop' of it, it doesnt really sit on the tow bar correctly as its not totally clearing the ball, if this dont make sense let me know will ya!!

concerned that it could slip off...:eek:

As long as it won't lift off over the ball when it's in situ then it'll be fine. If it will get a different shackle.

cheers red, it lifts off so gonna have to rethink this....cant find shackles anywhere that are 'thin' enough to go over the ball and onto the stem so that it wont lift off unless undone.....fooks sakes!

You need one that'll slide onto the neck sideways and then swing round to the front (back) so you can connect the strop and shackle pin. The alternative and much better/safer choice is to buy a ball and pin hitch and throw the std ball hitch away.

£25 to £40 will get you a good one. Ball and pin, Commercial Vehicles, Car Accessories, Classic Car Parts items at low prices on eBay.co.uk

Small price to pay for yours or someone else's safety.

Avery Knight and Bowlers in Bath do some that fit the tow ball.

sounds like you need an alloy bow shackle instead of a dee shackle, do a search on the net for your nearest lifting gear supplier. give em the measurements of the ball and tell em what you need the shackle to do. they are only a few quid

riteeeeeeeeee just had a gander for these points where JATE rings would go....on the front..I got nothin this close to the front

further back looks like somethin however the one of the right (drivers side) is being used for something!!??a rod diagonally across to the left!

the one on the left is unused..

one question...wat the fook??

Do you have a tow bar? The rear tow points are where the tow bar lower struts go to.
