ye can use them in the snow zone during the winter, ther is no snow zonein the uk you need the alps for that

when i have been skiing in italy they used chains and snow tyres instead of spikes

spikes are crap on water aswell sean and they aint much use on trees

they use them in iceland all year round. Even on thawed roads.
