• They're on the same money as the English.
  • They're NOT easier to get rid of.
  • Poles work hard? They do until they get their feet under the table and 'established'
  • Then they do a full days work, albeit a very SLOW full days work so they can get as much overtime in as possible.
  • Thus costing the company more money and then English workers get laid off.
This recession has nowhere near bit yet, you can be sure that feelings will run high too if this becomes a common practice.

How safe's YOUR job Sean?
what is it Zan did do boomer cant she go into photography?? she is good enough at it:D

I only say this because English people are now starting to lose their jobs, ...............This has just happened to my wife: She put her heart and soul into her job but she got made redundant on Friday and escorted off the premises, yet those useless foreign ****ers have still got a job.
It's never right.

Sorry to hear that Boomer and Zan, sucks anytime but just before Christmas was harsh.

Unlucky Zan, Join the holiday club, wages are **** but the hours are great

yup. as the others have said - sorry to hear it, guys. There is alot of it about.

on the plus side - how good is Zan at wielding spanners and changing clutches?

cheers guys , not sure what I'm going to yet. Didn't get a bad redundancy cheque, so I'm thinking I may put my feet up till xmas is out of the way, then start looking for a job

yu carnt put yo feet up - yu gorra clutch to change :pound:

It's truly **** for anyone to lose their job specially this time of year. I used to work at a big meat processing plant that employed over 400 people over 300 of whom were foreign. Portuguese, poles, spaniards etc. The company couldn't get locals to do the ****ty work even though they paid well. The place I'm at now doesn't employ any immigrants, just locals, and is doing well at the moment having just had their best year so far and still mega busy with the xmas rush. In fact there are over 150 temps in at the moment but they'll mostly be gone by xmas. I'd like to feel secure but who knows what can happen these days.

haha, me stomach's still hurtin from the yatch-in-the-fan incident - classic!!! Spat me beer all over the doris - visionary telly, glad they finally showed summat good for me £130 this chrimbo!
