There should be a dipstick attached to the lid.

replacement box will be about 250-300 but you could get seal replaced

between two ridges ideal so not lost much then

They do replacement seal kits. Success varies. Sometimes they work. sometimes thay don't.

replacement second hand ones go on ebay for bugger all.

I brought a used 4 bolt box from Ebay £40.00 and its Perfect no drips and works fine

I've never had any success with fitting replacement seals. Bite the bullet, get a fresh box, new or good s/hMight be me that's no good at doing seals but I wouldn't even bother trying nowadays.

For an easy temporary fix put 1 capful of brake fluid (DOT4) into the PAS resevoir. It helps swell up old rubber seals and stops the leak. Did this over 3000 miles ago on my 110 and it's still dry
This is obviously at best temporary and at worst a test to see what is leaking.

If you can get a replacement cheap off ebay, swapping these is a fairly easy job, bit messy though. Make sure you get the pipes to go with it cos later ones (TD5etc) have a different connector type on the high pressure side to earlier ones, and you may have to mix and match them by cutting and splicing together with a union.
