hi folks does anyone have any dimensions or drawings with dimensions for making my own either rock sliders or side steps for my 1989 L/R 90 all replies greatfully received. thanks Dave

80mm x 40mm x 5mm box section approx 1500mm each side. you'll also need some 42mm OD tubing and a piece of thick plate (I'm using 10mm) for the brackets etc. do a search on here and you'll find a step by step guide somewhere.

Saw a Disco the other weekend with scaffold rock sliders ......... everything he had protection wise was homemade apart from his steering guard (a man after my own heart there)

Nice bit of work that! Just goes to show there ain't many problems you can't sort out with a bit of scaffold pipe, a little knowledge & carefully applied brute force!

the ones on l 605 yac are not scaffold pipe as its only 2 inch diameter ,and they are a lot thicker than that

Not a bad effort on the disco, but personally I would put caps on the end!

But if you put caps on the end water would sit in there and it would rust from the inside out.

most scaffold tub is'nt up to the job anyway its rolled and seam welded not proper tube if you try to bend it the wrong direction it will split
