Hi, got a problem with a freelander td4 2005. there is smoke coming out of a pipe which sticks out of the vehicles front passenger side underbody trim. Also makes a loud motor whiring sound at the same time. The smoke is hot, presumabley exhaust gas???
can anybody help???

what hes trying to say is, its your fuel burning heater, its a device fitted to most td4's to warm the diesel before it gets to the engine. it was his attempt at sounding clever so dont worry about it. he only knows about it because he read of it in another post. welcome by the way

yu sure, Yella - I thought it was a device to pre-heat the water in your engine to enable a warmer heater and quicker getting to temperature.

Er, cos it burns the fuel to warm the water, I've got a little timer for mine so you can set it to come on & have your Freebie warm & toastie before you get in

I think yu are thinking of a pre-heater, Yella - to pre-heat the fuel before it gets to the engine.

I think the FBH is made by Webasto.
