Anybody know the purpose / function of this bracket? It's bolted to the bottom of the front diff and the track rod tube runs through it (but with clearance all around).
I've got to change me front diff, and the new one doesn't have the tapped holes for attaching this bracket, so I'm wondering what it does and whether it's essential?

i had one and took it off. maybe its to prevent rocks from pulling your track rod back too far when you run over them... thus saving the TR from snapping or severe bending. whoooo knows :D

i had one to untill i fitted a dan bar, this is a bigger dia rod and it pulled the bracket off first roundabout i went round so really strong eh?

Thanks for the replies.
Has anyone not got one fitted? Any problems wit it not being there?

My 110 had one, my 90 doesn't.

Ive never had a problem with it.

Mates 90 don't either as far as i know, again, no problems.

dunt sound like yer noo diff is in a front casing they should all have the holes..... unless its a series diff

dunt forget its facing the uffa way then its on the back, i would check fust
What difference would that make? It's 180 degrees on the same plane! All depends on which way the prop turns, do they both turn the same way?

Only problem I'd see is the filler ole. If it's off centre it's gonna be too low or too high depending where the front filler plug is.. course if it's dead centre then it won't be a problem at all...
