Over the last couple of weeks, the clutch pedal has started to make a squeaking noise when it is pressed down. Has anyone else experienced this? I've tried to lubricate the spring but no change.

What style of clutch pedal do you have? If the later flat bar type the spring sits in plastic “bushings” that can squeak as they wear.

The flat steel pedal. Where would the plastic bushings be located to change them?

top of the pedal in the footwell footwell you have the circular spring. Each end of this sits in a little plastic cup, and there is a plastic insert onto the pedal where the spring sits in the slot: Link shows the little plastic parts I am refering to. LINK2 shows a spring installations fitting guide on youtube showing you the locations.

Mine squeaks all the time too, I kinda think of it as part of the charm of owning a defender :)
if you get rid of the squeaks the rumbles and clunks become more noticeable, if you get rid of them you are just left with wind noise, and no one wants that!
