I have discovered that the previous owner of my L322 has most likely raised the height by 5cm by reprogramming the suspension offset. I can see this issue in my ride heights and in the offsets using my cheap OBD reader.

My iCarSoft V2 allows me to see the offsets but I cannot reprogram them. My local Range Rover expert wants £120 an hour plus VAT to change them and refuses to say how long it will take to do that change.

I live near Luton Airport and I wonder if there is anyone in my area that has a Gap tool or equivalent that can be used to change the suspension offsets. I will come to you on whatever day and time that suits you.

The guy that I bought the car off had died two years earlier and his widow sold it to me and she was German and barely spoke English. I have no idea what it was used for.

I noticed many strange things with the car such as the rear right height sensor had broken on the arms and he had used cable ties to try to tie them back together. And the front disk dust protectors were rotten at the nuts and he has also cable tied them on.

He had no interest in selling the car, he had it for 20 years. So none of this was done to sell the car. He just did a lot of dodgy repairs.

His widow did not want to sell the car. But it had failed the MOT and they decided to get rid of it and I bought it from the son-in-law.

I just noticed that it was really high and I thought that it was because of the rear ride height sensors being broken. But after I had replaced them it remained at the high-level.

Then I noticed the settings for the suspension offset using my cheap OBD reader. Then I measured the ride height and found that it was five centimeters higher on every corner.

Then I contacted my local Range Rover specialist who wanted an unspecified amount of money to fix the problem.

Then I came here hoping that someone has the gap tool or equivalent and can reprogram it in the 10 minutes that it will usually take.

There should be someone who can help. There is a section on here called "international rescue".
There may be a bod or two on there👍

Go to main forum list, and start there. The LZIR thread has a link to the map.

Wow what an amazing resource!

Unfortunately the people near to me that have diagnostic equipment all mention that they have a generic OBD reader that can only read information from the car not to write information back to the car.

I need the ability to write data to the car.

The BMW inpa software may should work on your car, its a free download but you need the right cable to connect to a laptop there are companys that will see you the cable and software along with back up for about £70 may be worth a shot ibelive you go in under the X5 settings, others on here know more @stuu

Before I bought my OBD reader I looked into this but I do not have a Windows laptop.

I saw some cables with laptop on eBay but they were all for the later model cars, not for my 2002 L322.

I bought the V2 iCarSoft because the company said that the V2 was no different to the V3, but cheaper. But it turns out that the V3 can write to the car while the V2 cannot.

I cannot understand why a company can be so stupid as to give incorrect information out about their own product.

I may have to just spend on the V3 and try to sell my V2 or give it away.

That would still be cheaper than going to the local Range Rover expert and paying for one hour of his time.

Most people with the GAP tool will be vin locked to their vehicle, you can add extra vins for 60 odd quid each.
Oh god, of course. I read that last year when I was thinking to buy one. Hmmm.

That ruins my plan.

I guess the V3 iCarSoft for £160 and try to sell my V2 iCarSoft to someone, that does not write data to the car.

I have the Icarsoft CR-Max which apparently uses the same SW as the V3 Land Rover Version, but covers all most cars. Never tried it on an L322 though cos I aint got one.

Works well on my Merc C180 & both Freelanders. For my P38's it shows BECM, EAS, HEVAC, etc in the menus but always fails to connect.

Could try it if you want to drive to Langley one day.

If the V2 was miss sold, try for a trade in against the V3.

That would be awesome if you mean Langley near to Stevenage? And not the CIA headquarters in America.

The iCarSoft does not work on the P38.

Your CR-Max, if it is the V3 with the latest software, will be identical to the LR V3.

I bought the LR version because I only have one car and I do not plan to have a different car in the future.

I used to own a 1969 Alfa Romeo GT Junior which I restored from a wreck, because it was built in the same year that I was born.

I sold it when I left Australia and due to traveling with work for many years I did not own a car.

I ended up in England and I needed a car and the L322 was the only car I wanted.

I am not a fan of computers in cars, and I bought the L322 because of a video by Jeremy Clarkson and Harry Metcalf saying that it was the best Range Rover.

Unbeknownst to me it has a ton of computers in it and I probably should've bought a P38.

But I've spent a year fixing it up, most recently replacing every brake pipe and brake hose, so I'm not changing it now.

Instead I will just spend time and money fixing whatever goes wrong with it next.
